MANNER ADVERBS

Manner adverbs indicate a way or a quality of the action described by the verb.

Manner adverbs are divided in two groups:

• some adverbs are original words  (bene, male, cosė, apposta)

  Example:
  "Io sto bene."

• many adverbs are a transformation of qualifying adjectives  (normalmente, facilmente... They are the biggest group.)

  Example:
  "Normalmente Marco lavora con il computer"

These are the rules to form the adverbs of the second group:

• from the feminine form of the adjective + the invariable suffix -mente

  Examples:
  " Sportivo ---> sportivamente."
  Feminine form of the adjective (sportiva) + suffix (-mente).
  
  " Veloce ---> velocemente."
  Feminine form of the adjective (veloce) + suffix (-mente).
  

• if the adjective ends in -le or -re, the letter -e is eliminated

  Example:
  " Facile ---> facilmente."
  Feminine form of the adjective (facile) - letter (e) + suffix (-mente).
