ADVERBS OF PLACE

The adverbs of place indicate a place in the space where the action takes place.

These are the most important adverbs:

• Qui, qua, quaggiù, quassù  (indicate a place near to who's speaking)

  Example:
  "Qui a Firenze fa freddo."

• Costì  (indicates a place near to who's listening)

  Example:
  "Come state costì a Milano"

• Lì, là, laggiù, lassù  (a far away place to who's speaking and to who's listening)

  Example:
  "La palla è finita lassù sull’albero."

• Su, giù, davanti, dietro, dentro, fuori, vicino, lontano, sopra, sotto  (indicates a place near to who's speaking)

  Example:
  "Vengo io su da voi o venite voi giù da me?"
