COMBINED PRONOUNS

The combined pronouns are couples of pronouns, formed by an indirect pronoun and the direct pronouns lo, la, li, le.
This couple substitutes a noun that has the function of indirect object and a noun that has the function of direct complement.

Example:
"Ho un regalo per voi, ma velo porto domani."
In this sentence the pronoun 've' means 'a voi' (indirect object), and the pronoun 'lo' means 'il regalo' (direct complement).

The indirect pronouns have three general behavior rules :

• for position  (the indirect pronoun is always before the direct pronoun)

  Example:
  "Telo dico domani."

• for the form  (the indirect pronoun changes the I with an E)

  Examples:
  "Mi piace quel libro."
  "Melo presti?"

• for the combination  (the indirect pronouns GLI and LE transform in GLIE-)

  Example:
  "Hai visto quelle mele? Gliele ha portate il contadino."

Attention:
The indirect pronouns can combine also with the particle NE, that has the same behavior of a direct pronoun.

The particle ne substitutes a quantity (definite or indefinite), a part (of something), a place or a topic that refer to something or someone.

Example:
"Non me ne importa niente."
