The pronoun is a variable part of the speech that substitutes a noun to avoid repetitions in the speech.
The pronoun is always related to a noun and it takes the same gender (masculine or feminine) and the same number (singular or plural) of the noun related.

These are the most common kinds of pronouns and their functions:

Personal Subject and complements

"Io sono in casa."

Demonstrative Position indication

"Questo tavolo vicino, quello lontano."

Possessive Belonging indication

"La sua casa grande, la mia piccola."

Indefinite Generic quantity indication

"Molti amano la musica."

"La donna che vedi mia moglie."
