RULES ON THE POSITION OF UNSTRESSED PRONOUNS

The pronouns without an accent (unstressed) have particular behavior rules in relation to their position. They can be direct, indirect and combined or reflexive pronouns.

About position, the unstressed pronouns can find themselves:

• before a simple verb

  Example:
  "Vedo Carlo e gli parlo."

• before a compound transitive verb

  Example:
  "Ho visto Maria e l'ho salutata."

• before a group with a modal verb

  Example:
  "Ti devo dare una bella notizia."

• after a group with a modal verb

  Example:
  "Devo darti una bella notizia"

• with an imperative verb

  Example:
  "Chiedilo a tuo fratello!"

• with an implicit form  (infinitive, gerund or participle)

  Example:
  "Ti scrivo per salutarti."
