IRREGULARITY OF THE PRESENT IMPERATIVE

There is a small group of irregular verbs solely at the second person singular of the imperative.

These are the verbs with irregular imperative:

• dire ---> di'

  Example:
  "Di' quello che pensi!"

• dare ---> da'

  Example:
  "Da' qua quella borsa, è mia!"

• fare ---> fa'

  Example:
  "Fa' vedere a me questo esercizio!"

• stare ---> sta'

  Example:
  "Sta' tranquillo: ci penso io!"

• andare ---> va'

  Example:
  "Va' pure a giocare a calcio, ma torna presto!"
