The indicative mode is the reality and certainty mode.
It is used for neutral description or to tell of true, sure and real things.
Example: "
Marco va in ufficio tutti i giorni alle 8:00.

The indicative mode has 8 different tenses: - indicativo presente
(present, simple tense. The indicative present express also habitual facts and it is used often in the narration.)
- indicativo passato prossimo
(present perfect, compound tense)
- indicativo imperfetto
(imperfect, simple tense. It is used with repeated past action or habit (as "used to" in English); to describe something in the past or a continuous action in the past (in this case, it corresponds to the past continuous or past progressive in English.)
- indicativo trapassato prossimo
(past perfect, compound tense)
- indicativo passato remoto
(past simple, simple tense)
- indicativo trapassato remoto
(no equivalent in English, it corresponds roughly to the English pluperfect)
- indicativo futuro semplice
(future simple, simple tense)
- indicativo futuro anteriore
(future perfect, compound tense)
