INFINITIVE FORM OF -IRE VERBSYou are here: morphology > verbs > regular > ire > infinitive
The infinitive form is an undefinite mood.
It is the base form of the verb (as "to have" / "to be" / "to go" "to ..." in English).
Example: "
Essere o non essere: questo è il problema!
"
The infinite mode has 2 different tenses: - infinito presente
(present infinitive, simple tense)
- infinito passato
(past infinitive, compound tense)
Note: This mode is called the implicit mode because the form of the verb does not express the subject.
