IMPLICIT FORMS WITH THE PARTICIPLE

The participle mood can be used to form many dependent clauses with an implicit form.

These are the main uses:

• causal  (indicates the cause of the supporting clause)

  Example:
  "Guadagnati molti soldi, ha potuto comprare una macchina nuova."

• anterior temporal  (indicates what happens before the action of the supporting clause)

  Example:
  "Visto il film sono tornato a casa."

• concessive  (indicates a concession that doesn't produce the desired effect in the supporting.)

  Example:
  "Benché molto preparato, Antonio non ha ottenuto quel posto di lavoro."

• relative  (is in relation with the supporting clause because they have a common element)

  Example:
  "Antonio parla con la persona competente."

• conditional  (indicates the necessary condition of the supporting clause)

  Example:
  "Usate con misura le medicine sono molto utili."
