SUBORDINATE ADDITIONAL CLAUSES

The subordinate additional clauses add an action to the one of the supporting clause.

Example:
" Oltre a preparare il dolce, Marco ha comprato anche lo champagne. "

These clauses usually don't have an explicit form.

In the implicit form these clauses are introduced by:

• oltre che / a + present or past infinitive

  Example:
  "Oltre a essere brava, Anna è anche simpatica."

Note:
These clauses can be contemporary to the supporting clause (with present infinitive) or anterior (with past infinitive).

Attention:
These clauses practically only use the infinitive mood.
