SUBORDINATE EXCLUSIVE CLAUSES

The subordinate exclusive clauses exclude an action respect to the one of the supporting clause.

Example:
" Antonio ha capito tutto, senza che nessuno gli dicesse niente. "

In the explicit form these clauses are introduced by the conjunctions:

• senza che

  Example:
  "Anna prepara un tè a Marco senza che lui gliel'abbia chiesto."

Attention:
In the explicit form these clauses use the subjunctive mood.

Note:
These clauses follow the rules of time concordance.

In the implicit form these clauses are introduced by:

• senza + infinitive

  Example:
  "I bambini sono andati a giocare a calcio senza chiedere il permesso."

Attention:
In the implicit form these clauses only use the infinitive mood.

Note:
These clauses can be contemporary to the supporting (with present infinitive) or anterior (with past infinitive).
