SUBORDINATE EXCEPTIONAL CLAUSES

The subordinate exceptional clauses indicate an exception for the supporting clause.

Example:
" Vengo sicuramente a trovarvi, a meno che non debba lavorare fino a tardi "

In the explicit form these clauses are introduced by these conjunctions:

• tranne che

  Example:
  "La festa si farà tranne che io debba andare a Roma."

• eccetto che

  Example:
  "Eccetto che non mi dicano di riposare ancora, domani torno a lavorare."

• salvo che

  Example:
  "Anna farà un viaggio salvo che l'azienda le dia le ferie."

• a meno che

  Example:
  "Andiamo al mare a meno che non piova."

• fuorché

  Example:
  "Fuorché non debba studiare, stasera vado al cinema."

In the explicit form these clauses use the subjunctive mood.

Note:
These clauses follow the rules of time concordance.

Attention:
In the implicit form these clauses use the same conjunctions of the explicit form and only the infinitive mood. .

Example:
" Sono d'accordo su tutto fuorché vendere le nostre azioni. "

Note:
These clauses can be contemporary to the supporting (with the present infinitive) or anterior (with the past infinitive).
