SUBORDINATE INTERROGATIVE CLAUSES

The subordinate interrogative clauses explain the question of the supporting.

Example:
" Ci chiediamo se sia meglio vestirsi in modo elegante o no. "

In the explicit form the interrogative clauses are introduced by:

• interrogative pronouns, adjectives or adverbs

  Example:
  "Chi, che, cosa, come, perché, quando, dove, quanto, quale."

Attention:
These clauses can use both the indicative or subjunctive mood.

Note:
These clauses follow the rules of time concordance.

In the implicit form the interrogative clauses are introduced by:

• interrogative pronouns, adjectives or adverbs + infinitive  (Chi, che, cosa, come, perché, quando, dove, quanto, quale.)

  Example:
  "Non so dove andare a cena stasera."

Attention:
In the implicit form these clauses only use the infinitive mood.

Note:
These clauses can be contemporary to the supporting (with the present infinitive) or anterior (with the past infinitive).
