SUBORDINATE RESTRICTIVE CLAUSES

The subordinate restrictive clauses limit the field of action of the supporting clause.

Example:
" A quanto dicono i musei di Roma sono molto interessanti. "

In the explicit form these clauses are introduced by these conjunctions:

• secondo quello che

  Example:
  "Secondo quello che c'è scritto sulle istruzioni adesso il computer dovrebbe funzionare."

• secondo quanto

  Example:
  "Secondo quanto riporta il giornale la polizia ha catturato tutti criminali."

• per quanto

  Example:
  "Per quanto ti sforzi, non riuscirai a terminare il lavoro prima di una settimana."

• a quanto

  Example:
  "A quanto mi hanno detto in questo ristorante si mangia molto bene."

• per quello che

  Example:
  "Per quello che può importare io ero d'accordo con te."

These clauses follow the rules of time concordance.

In the implicit form these clauses are introduced by quanto a and only use the infinitive moodo.

Example:
" Quanto a cucinare Lucia è veramente brava. "

Note:
These clauses can be contemporary to the supporting (with present infinitive) or anterior (with past infinitive).
